Project Brief

The purpose of the project is to help Turkey to stimulate and commercialize the use of grid connected renewable energy technologies and markets. Furthermore, the project will demonstrate the viability of grid connected Wind farms which can support improved energy security, improved air quality, alternative sustainable energy futures, improved local livelihoods and sustainable renewable energy industry development. Annual generation from the project is expected to be 30,000 MWh per year. Over the first 10 years crediting period, the project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 19,445 tCO2e/year for the project, thereon displacing 30,000 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Turkish grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. Over the entire crediting period of 10 years, the project is expected to reduce 194,450 tCO2e. The project has a 9 MWe capacity.

Additional Information

The annual estimated emisssion reductions for the project activity are 19,445 TCO2.
