Project Brief

The project is the construction and operation of a new biogas utilization for renewable electricity and heat generation project located in Huangyang Village, Huangyang Town, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, China.

The main purpose of the project is to generate and supply electricity to grid and meanwhile supply the processed biogas to end-users for heat generation and use by utilizing biogas from animal manure, food industry waste and wastewater sludge treatment by Continuously Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTR) under anaerobic conditions, which are anaerobic digesters to generate biogas and achieve an environmentally sound way of managing animal waste, food industry waste and sludge.

The project constructed 4 sets of 1000m3 CSTRs and 2 sets of 2000m3 CSTRs for the waste treatment. The waste treaded in the project involves:

(1) animal manual of dairy cows, market swine, breeding swine, other cattle, and layer chickens with a distance from the project less than 20km;

(2) food industry waste; and

(3) sludge from wastewater treatment systems in food industry.
