Project Brief

Tengchong Dapingtian  Hydro Power Plant has been established and operated by Tengchong County Dapingtian Hydropower Development Co.,Ltd.. The purpose of establishing the power plant is to contribute to China's increasing energy demand by providing clean energy to theChinese Southern Power Grid from hydro power and to provide competitive advantage to local industries by providing cheap energy. By implementing this project, investors also aim to reduce the dependency of fossil fuels by generating clean energy.
The project activity will generate greenhouse gases (GHG) emission reductions by avoiding usage of fossil fuels, the annual emission reduction estimated for this project is 180,536 tonnes of CO2. During the crediting period1,805,361tonnes of CO2 are expected to be reduced.
The project consists of 3 units which one of them having 32 MWm capacity and.Total installed capacity is 96MWm and annual generation is expected to be 354,792 MWh.The project is operational since Sept 2018. The project complies with the relevant regulations and laws in China.
The project is expected to contribute 4 SDGs which are SDG 7, 8, 9 and 13.

VERIFICATION OUTCOME
Opinion

The GCC Project Verifier Shenzhen CTI International Certification Co., Ltd (CTI), has verified and certify that the GCC Project Activity Tengchong Dapingtian Hydropower Project:

(a). has correctly described the Project Activity in the Project Submission Form (version 6.0, dated 28/11/2023) including the applicability of the approved methodology ACM0002, version ACM0002 (Version 21.0) and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively;

(b). is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 168,870 tCO2eq/annum, as indicated in the PSF, which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity;
